Begin your adventure with a visit to Lake Eyasi, a hub for cultural enthusiasts. Here, you will meet the Hadzabe tribe, one of Tanzania’s last remaining hunter-gatherer communities. Participate in their daily activities, such as traditional hunting and gathering, and gain insight into their unique way of life. You’ll also interact with the Datoga tribe, renowned for their blacksmithing and pastoral practices. After a day of rich cultural exchange, return to Karatu for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Explore the Hidden Beauty of Lake Natron

After breakfast, journey to Lake Natron, a remote and stunning destination far from the usual tourist trails. Take in the breathtaking views of Ol Doinyo Lengai, an active volcano revered by the Maasai. Upon arrival, enjoy a bird-watching tour and a sunset walk along the colorful shores of Lake Natron, home to vibrant flamingos.

Day 3: Full-Day Exploration at Lake Natron

Spend a full day uncovering the wonders of Lake Natron. Embark on guided walks by the lake, marvel at the waterfalls, and visit the fascinating hominid footprints. Observe flamingos and other bird species in their natural habitat and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and the Great Rift Valley escarpment. Conclude the day with a sundowner overlooking the picturesque lake as the sun sets.

Day 4: Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, set out for the world-famous Serengeti National Park via Klein’s Gate. Stop for lunch at the park entrance before delving into the vast savannah, where endless plains are dotted with acacia trees and rocky outcrops (kopjes). Encounter resident wildlife, including giraffes, elephants, lions, and cheetahs, and during December through February, witness the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebras. Return to a comfortable tented camp for the night.

Day 5: Full-Day Game Drive in Serengeti National Park

Enjoy an early start to maximize your time in Serengeti’s iconic landscapes. Your guide will lead you to prime wildlife viewing locations, such as the Hippo Pool, where hippos and crocodiles coexist, and areas frequented by prides of lions and herds of grazing animals. If you’re lucky, you might spot elusive leopards and cheetahs. The day offers an immersive wildlife experience and unforgettable photographic opportunities.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Crater and Return to Arusha

Conclude your safari with a visit to the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Africa’s most iconic destinations. After breakfast, descend 610 meters to the crater floor, a wildlife haven home to nearly 40,000 animals. Spot the Big Five—lion, leopard, black rhino, elephant, and buffalo—as well as flamingos, wildebeest, zebras, and other species. Enjoy a picnic lunch amidst this stunning setting before ascending the crater and returning to Arusha for your final night.
